The Lee Eric Drake Foundation is currently developing new non profit fundraising ideas starting in the year of 2009 under a new program we are developing called "Records for Awareness". The basic gist behind this campaign is simple; we're going to break Guinness World Records, cause a fuss with the media and online community and get coverage that will mutually benefit the Lee Eric Drake Foundation as well as our sponsors in a way that is reputable and honest.
Records for Awareness 2010 events:
Walk Across America - 2900+ Mile walk starting in LA and ending in Time Square - Multi day multi-charity event
Change for Life - Longest line of coins - Multi day multi-charity event
24 - 24 hour Aquabike distance record
- Multi day multi-charity event
Donations will primarily be used to benefit the Lee Eric Drake Foundation as we work toward our goals of raising money for graduate scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to individuals entering into mental health fields, and are targeted at those individuals who will be battling mental illnesses on the front lines. However, certain events such as "8 Days for Life" will be multi-charity events and will benefit not only the LED Foundation but other foundations and charities. Multi-charity events are our way of working with and for others the way our name sake, Eric Drake, would have done.
